Born from constituent assembly and created on 2nd September, 1946 for transfer of power from British.

Born on November 1946 under cabinet mission plan 1946.

It had 389 members of which 296 were elected by members of provincial assemblies and rest was nominated by princely states.

First meeting was held on 9th December 1946 and later on 14th august 1947.

First president was Sachidananda Sinha and later Rajendra Prasad. Vice president was HC Mukherjee.

The design of national flag was adopted by constituent assembly on July 22, 1947.

Created on 29th august 1947 under the chairmanship of B R Ambedkar consisting of 7 members.

The constitution was completed on 24th Nov, 1949 and passed on 26th November 1949 and enforced on 26th January 1950 on Poorna Swaraj Day (Lahore session resolution 1929 by INC).
