2. What does union list consist of?

consists of subjects of national importance

3. Who can make laws on concurrent list?

Both centre and state. In case of conflict the central law will prevail.

4. How many subjects are present in each list?

Union list – 100 subjects (earlier 97); State list – 61 subjects (earlier 66); Concurrent list – 52 subjects (earlier 47)

5. When can parliament make laws for matters in state list?

Following are the conditions:

- According to Article 250 during emergency parliament can make laws on whole or part of territory of India with respect to all matters in state list

- According to Article 252 if legislatures of two or more states desires to have law passed by parliament

- According to Article 253 when there are treaties and international agreements

- According to Article 356 when parliament declares state government cannot be carried out with provision of constitution
